City of Rochester Recognizes Journee Campbell for WOMENS HISTORY MONTH!

City of Rochester, NY - Mayor's Office

Happy Women's History Month! This month, we're celebrating "Women Who Tell Our Stories "By recognizing women of Rochester who have dedicated their lives to using all forms of media and storytelling to produce art and news reflecting our society.

We're kicking off the 2023 WHM with Rochester's own six-year-old published author: Journee

Campbell! From "Save Your Tears" to "My Friends Are Special" Campbell Creations Publishing uses literature to "ignite a universal passion for reading by creating books for children"

"Writing stories is like taking a magical journey," said the young author. "It's a way to explore the world and share my ideas with others. Being an author means I can use my imagination to create something special that will inspire kids to dream big and never give up."

Journee's work has gained her the recognition of many public figures including Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star actress Tatyana Ali, and our very own Mayor Malik Evans!

Keep up the great work Journee, we can't wait to see the amazing stories you continue to tell!
